Sohum Mehta earned his start in finance almost a decade ago when he was hired as an Accounting Clerk by international restaurant chain, Taco Bell. While working at the organization, Sohum was responsible for creating weekly financial summaries featuring a breakdown of cost, labour, revenue and expenses.
Sohum then worked as a Consumer & Corporate Wholesale Banking Analyst for Standard Chartered Bank, a global financial institution with a large market in Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
At Standard Chartered Bank, Sohum was responsible for performing risk assessments and analysis on proposed corporate loans and screening cash flow statements, among other tasks. Sohum used this information to determine solvency and develop spreadsheet models for loan and capital structure feasibility. Sohum also issued mezzanine financing products for numerous companies with an annual turnover of $10 million plus.
