Simrat is part of the social impact team that supports the capacity building and scaling of social purpose organizations in LIFT’s portfolio to affect meaningful and measurable impact.
Prior to joining LIFT, Sim worked with Plan Canada, an international development organization focused on improving the quality of life for children, families and
communities around the world. Working in over 13 countries in Africa, Sim designed, managed, monitored and supported capacity building across a number of initiatives in education, youth and women’s economic empowerment, microfinance and child protection. Sim previously worked with MEDA, which builds business solutions to poverty, in countries across Africa and Asia where she developed and implemented programs with small entrepreneurs to improve livelihoods and alleviate poverty. With a background in the sciences, Simrat started her career in the pharmaceutical research and life sciences industry.
She has a Bachelor of Science from McMaster University and a Master of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University.
