Sidney Knafel has over 40 years of leadership experience in the telecommunications industry. He co-founded Insight Communications, the ninth largest U.S. cable company, in 1985 with Michael Willner and served as a director and chairman of the board until the company was sold to Time Warner Cable in February 2012 for $3 billion. Sid also was the
founder, Chairman and an equity holder of Vision Cable Communications, Inc. from 1971 until its sale in 1981.
Sid is currently a member of the board of directors of General American Investors Company, Inc. and IGENE Biotechnology, Inc., and several private companies. He is also the managing partner of SRK Management Company, a private investment company.
Sid is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Business School.
