Mr. Chen is responsible for managing investment and portfolio related activities at Tsing Capital China Environment Funds (CEF) and currently serves as board of director for 5 CEF portfolio companies.
As a first generation venture capitalist in China, Mr. Chen started his investment career at WI Harper Group in San Francisco (a cross boarder
venture capital firm) in 1999. After returning to China in 2002, he was running a venture advisory practice helping Chinese companies on venture / private equity fund raising and M&A activities and closed over $100M transactions with successful cases including raising the largest private equity funding round for a software outsourcing company and acquisition of China’s largest independent security system integrator by a Fortune500 company.
Prior to his investment career, Mr. Chen spent ten years working for multinational companies including GE and DuPont in China, U.S. and Hong Kong, responsible for China and Asia market development activities. Mr. Chen graduated from Automation Department and post-graduate program in School of Economics and Management, both of Tsinghua University. He also has a Master of Engineering Management from Old Dominion University.
