With over 20 years’ international experience in the technology and transportation and sectors, Sharon Masterson currently works with the International Transport Forum at the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), an intergovernmental organisation of 59 member countries to facilitate global dialogue for better transport. In
her role with the Corporate Partnership Board, the ITF’s platform for engaging with the private sector, she works with leading global enterprises to ensure transport policy discussions are enriched with a business perspective. These companies include Abertis, AB InBev, AeroMexico, Alstom, Aramco, Brisa, ExxonMobil, Ford, Google, Here, Incheon International Airport, Inrix, Kapsch TrafficCom, Michelin, North Adriatic Sea Port Authority, NXP, PTV Group, the Renault Nissan Alliance, SAS, SNCF, Siemens, Total, Toyota, Transdev, Uber, Volvo Cars and Volvo Group. Recent studies undertaken by the Corporate Partnership Board look at reshaping urban mobility to reduce not only emissions, but to improve access (eg to jobs, healthcare, education) and social inequality. This work has been widely quoted in the international press and has served as a key study for those in the transport sector interested in understanding how modern technology combined together with new business models and regulatory frameworks can change the future of transport. Prior to joining the OECD in 2009, Sharon Masterson spent ten years in commercial and operational management positions in Groupe Air France, Paris and Dublin and worked as Area Manager Benelux for a company supporting US tech companies launch in Europe. She worked as Business Development Manager in a tech startup and has also spent a number of years working in Germany at Würth GmbH & Co. KG.
