Shareen is the co-founder of Toolkits, a business media and advisory company founded in 2021 that provides insight and intelligence for professionals working in media and publishing. She is a journalist, editorial strategist and content product leader with extensive experience building and operating successful content products and businesses at
leading media companies.
She’s covered the media landscape, the ad and marketing sectors, and the industry’s shift from analog to digital for over a decade, as a reporter and editor in newsrooms in the U.S. and Singapore, including The Straits Times, Dow Jones/WSJ and Crain Communications.
She was previously the director of editorial products at Digiday Media, where she led the development of editorial content products and worked with sales, audience development and editorial teams on special projects and international expansion opportunities.
Prior to that, she was the founding editor of Glossy, a business publication about the future of fashion and beauty, as well as on the founding teams for Modern Retail and Tearsheet.
She also advises brands, advertising agencies and tech companies on how to create high-quality media operations and robust communications strategies and has spoken at industry festivals including Cannes, SXSW and Advertising Week. She’s a graduate of the Columbia University School of Journalism.
