Ásgeir joined Chelsio from Silicon Graphics, where he was responsible for protocol design, ASIC chip design and implementation, and formal design methodology. A member of Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and the IEEE, Ásgeir holds a PhD and MSEE in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota. He
also won the prestigious Best Paper award at the 1998 Formal Methods in Computer Aided Design for his work on “The Formal Design of 1M-gate ASICs.” He holds 15 patents in computer architecture, computer aided design methods, networking and host interfaces.
