Serge Drogi has worked on integrated circuits for cellular applications throughout his 20 year career. He started his career in 1988 at Philips Semiconductors in Europe. As a designer and later a design group leader, he contributed to numerous receiver ICs for GSM, including the first image rejecting front-end for Ericsson, which sold in
mass-market volumes.
In 1995, Serge joined Motorola to work on a cutting edge project developing frac-N modulation for GSM and while at Motorola he contributed to many other receiver designs.
In 2000, Serge joined Maxim Integrated Products as an RF systems architect. After a short break from cellular products during which he worked on a single-chip, high-power ISM transmitter, he defined the architecture for Maxim’s UMTS chipset, achieving true RF to digital functionality in one IC. These radios included very high-speed sigma-delta converters in both receive and transmit chains, making heavy use of digital filtering to achieve multi-standard compatibility.
Serge holds an Engineering degree from the National Institute of Applied Science, Lyon, France.
