Selene is an aerodynamicist, design engineer, and inventor from Ankara, Turkey. Her work as an innovation designer is focused on sustainable systems and utilizing non-conventional design language tools.
She studied Aerospace Engineering at UCLA and worked on electric vehicles as an aerodynamics engineer in Los Angeles. She recently graduated from
the Innovation Design Engineering double master’s course at Imperial College London and Royal College of Art with a distinction.
She believes that there is something undiscovered about the beauty and philosophy of fluid dynamics that can translate into a combination of function and a niche aesthetic representation both literally and conceptually. From wind-sculpted chairs to making the invisible visible, she focuses on leveraging the unseen and unnoticed and augmenting it to a new mission and function. She focuses on biomimicry, sustainability practices, material exploration, and pollution mitigation.
She created and founded Vox Aeris as part of her master's studies, which aims to break the temporal discounting barrier preventing most of us from addressing indoor air quality concerns. She is also the co-founder of Ghost Labs, a new creative innovation studio in London.
