Scott A. Baxter is our founder and Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President. Scott served as Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer for Qwest Communications, a leading Internet telecommunications company, from May 1999 until November 1999. In that position, Scott was responsible for developing and facilitating the implementation
of Qwest's corporate strategies. Previously, Scott was the President of Qwest Internet Solutions, or QIS, a business division of Qwest. QIS was formerly known as Icon CMT Corp., a leading Internet solutions provider founded by Scott in 1991, which he took public in February 1998 and was acquired by Qwest in December 1998. In his capacity as President of QIS, Scott was responsible for the strategic direction of the unit. He oversaw business development and operations, which included Qwest Internet Solutions' IP, communications and professional services groups that positioned QIS as an end-to-end Internet solutions provider. Prior to founding Icon CMT, Scott was involved in sales and marketing in the computer and network technology marketplace. Working for such companies as Sun Microsystems, Data General and McDonnell Douglas Automation, he held a variety of positions in sales, project management and engineering.
Scott has a bachelor of science from the State University of New York, College of Buffalo, where he majored in Information Systems Management. He was named one of the "Ten to Watch" in 1999 by Telephony Magazine and selected by BUSINESS NEWS New Jersey as one of their "40 under 40 - New Jersey's Most Successful Business People. Scott is an active member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and on the Board of Trustees for the Sigma Phi Epsilon Educational Foundation.
