Mr. Kapp began working with GEF in 2005 and focuses on GEF’s investment activities in Africa. He has deep technical and business expertise in the fields of forestry, wood processing, and biomass energy.
Prior to working with GEF, Mr. Kapp was a senior executive at Global Forest Products in South Africa, where he contributed to the building of
the company. Mr. Kapp has 15 years of experience in the global forestry sector and provides specific expertise at the interface of the traditional forestry sector and the emerging biomass energy sector. Prior to Global Forest Products, Mr. Kapp was a Senior Consultant with Poyry Management Consulting in Australia. He has also been an independent forest industry specialist serving clients throughout the world.
Mr. Kapp, a South African national, has an MS in Wood Science from the University of Stellenbosch and an MBA in Financial Management from the University of Pretoria.
