Sara A. Greenstein joined United States Steel Corporation in December 2014 as senior vice president – Consumer Solutions. Under Mrs. Greenstein’s leadership, Consumer Solutions has three business segments, which include home appliance and electrical, packaging and container, and construction. She is working toward aligning the company’s vast
capabilities and assets with key markets and customers, driving sustainable profitability and creating innovative solutions to help customers win their markets.
In January 2016, Mrs. Greenstein also assumed accountability for plant operations at the following facilities, which service the majority of her commercial entities’ customers: Mon Valley Works, East Chicago Tin, Fairfield Works’ # 5 coating line and the Double G Coatings joint venture with ArcelorMittal.
Mrs. Greenstein joined U. S. Steel from Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. (UL) where she most recently held the position of president – UL Supply Chain and Sustainability. In this role, she used her strategic vision to recognize the ever-changing market demands of customers and create innovative technology-driven solutions. During her 12-year tenure at UL, Mrs. Greenstein held a series of increasingly responsible positions while building a well-respected reputation for strategic planning and driving profitability, from developing and launching the UL technology and software businesses to expanding UL’s geographic footprint to include Japan, India and China.
Mrs. Greenstein spent the early part of her career in consulting at both Arthur Andersen Business Consulting and Boston Consulting Group, providing strategic and business transformation guidance to help large, global clients drive profitable growth.
During her career, Mrs. Greenstein has earned two prestigious honors from Crain’s Chicago Business: She was named one of the top 40 executives under 40 years of age in 2007, and she was named the “Chicago Executive of the Future” in 1999.
