Before co-founding Spotted by Locals, Sanne was an occupational therapist in a rehabilitation center (2002 - 2004) and set up and ran "Gezond Verzuim" (2004 - 2008), where she advised companies about the health and working conditions of their employees.
At Spotted by Locals Sanne was co-founder and community manager. She was responsible
for keeping the team of 500+ international freelance city-loving writers and photographers ("Spotters") in 80+ cities happy and efficient, helping them with their careers as a photographer or writer, recruiting new Spotters and communicating with visitors.
