Dr. Samson Jacob has dedicated his life to researching various types of cancer and has made significant contributions. Nonetheless, he has never forgotten his origins or where he came from. He still devotes time to assisting those who want to follow in his footsteps and become successful researchers. He also believes it is critical to maintaining a
healthy work-life balance, which is why he spends so much time with his family and friends. He also enjoys spending time outside and maintaining contact with his family, friends, and numerous colleagues and scientists in his field.
Samson T. Jacob, PhD retired in 2016 but is still actively following his field and his students with great pride. After retirement, he published "Enzymes of Nucleic Acid Synthesis and Modification: Volume 1: DNA Enzymes" in 2018. The book has two volumes. The first one talks about enzymes used for DNA synthesis and modification, while the second volume is about RNA-enzymes. The focus is mostly on eukaryotic enzymes, but a chapter is also dedicated to prokaryotic DNA repair enzymes. Additionally, two separate chapters discuss RNA polymerases from various organisms, including lower eukaryotes, plants, and higher eukaryotes.
A PhD grad from Agra University, he worked his way up to be at one of the highest scientific institutions in the world while at OSU.
