Prior to building DAGANGAN, Ryan served as CEO of Surya Utama Nuansa (SUN Energy), a renewable energy developer which he started at 2016 and became the largest solar company in Indonesia within 5 years time, with the goal of electrifying rural & remote areas in Indonesia with sustainable and eco-friendly energy.
Ryan also worked as a
Management/Strategy Consultant at McKinsey & Company for more than 2 years between 2014 and 2016, serving clients from multiple industries, focusing on business transformation, operations efficiency, and organizational development.
Beforehand, he started his consulting journey by spending almost a year in Accenture, dedicated to serve one of Indonesia biggest state-owned companies.
In addition to his engineering and business management expertise, Ryan had the chance to work at the Presidential Work Unit for Development Supervision and Control (UKP-PPP) in 2012. He was in charge to pilot and scale up the Open Government Initiative (OGI) program in multiple cities and regencies across Indonesia. He saw so many opportunities to serve and contribute for the society in this institution, especially when engaged in a non-commercial UKP-PPP project with many international NGOs and government institutions.
Ryan discovered his interest in serving and giving to the country as a result of this experience, on top of his semi-military background. One of these is a digital platform that bridges the economic gap between urban and rural communities, which he converted into DAGANGAN application.
Ryan completed his Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering from Universitas Indonesia and his Master's Degree in Business Management, from Prasetiya Mulya University.
