Ryan Ly, a former executive with Creative Artists Agency (CAA), graduated with a degree in English and film studies from the University of Pennsylvania before embarking on his career in the entertainment industry. He joined CAA as an agent trainee in the television department in 2005, and, in 2008, he was promoted to the position of television
literary and packaging agent. Over the next five years, Ryan Ly helped sign writers and directors on award-winning series such as Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead.
In 2013, Ryan Ly assumed the role of head of the television literary department and equity partner at CAA. He was the youngest person to occupy that position in the company’s history. While leading the department, Ly represented a portfolio of clients who generated millions of dollars in revenue. He was also in charge of a team comprising 18 scripted television agents based in Los Angeles, London, and New York. The department placed more than 500 clients as writers, producers, and directors of shows on major networks over the course of one year.
Since 2017, Ly has led Curate Entertainment in Los Angeles, California. In addition to being a company executive, he stands out as a knowledgeable industry figure whom outlets such as Variety, NPR, and USA Today have interviewed.
