Roy Wilson, Defense Acquisition University (DAU) Professor of Acquisition Cybersecurity

Professor Wilson served his country with the US Air Force from 1973 to 1994. He began his career as a flight line maintenance repairman on RC-135 Combat Sent aircraft. Professor Wilson received an Airman Education and Commissioning Program Scholarship in 1976

and completed his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in 1979 with the University of Central Florida. He went on to earn a M.S. in Aeronautical Engineering in 1983 from the Air Force Institute of Technology.

Professor Wilson served in a variety of engineering positions in the USAF including reliability/maintainability, nuclear and conventional weapons integration onto fighter and bomber platforms, ground and air launched cruise missile development, aircraft Operational Flight Program (OFP) development, Electronic Warfare (EW) Systems flight test, and intelligence gathering systems development. During his 21 year career, Professor Wilson flew flight test missions in the USAF F-4 Phantom and F-15 Eagle platforms and operational missions in US Navy P-3 and US Army RC-12 aircraft.

After his retirement from the USAF in 1994, Professor Wilson began a career in Contractor Support Services (CSS) to US Navy program offices including the F/A-18 (PMA-265) and Unmanned Carrier Aviation (PMA-268). Professor Wilson supported OFP development and system security assessments on several USN platforms. He completed his CISSP certification in 2010 and is also a Certified Ethical Hacker.

Professor Wilson joined the Government Service in 2014 where he served as the System Security Engineer and Program Office Protection Lead for Unmanned Carrier Aviation Systems at NAS Pax River, MD.

In January of 2017, Professor Wilson began his tenure with DAU where he teaches system security engineering and cybersecurity at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Office in California, MD.
