Roy Bedlow is Chief Executive and founder of Low Carbon. Low Carbon was founded in 2011, to deploy capital into renewable energy at scale with the aim of having a lasting and positive impact on climate change. Roy started his career in the global technology sector, with leadership roles at Apple and Palm before he pivoted to dedicating his
efforts to the fight against climate change. In addition to Low Carbon, Roy is Director of Oxygen House - who work to address the biodiversity and climate crisis by scaling the restoration of nature in the UK - and serves on the Board of the education innovation firm Sparx. He is a Trustee of the 1851 Trust - the education and sport charity founded by Olympic Gold Medallist Sir Ben Ainslie – and has overseen Low Carbon’s work as an official nominator of Prince William’s Earthshot Prize since its launch in 2021. He is also a Shareholder of Open Planet - the innovation from long-time collaborators of Sir David Attenborough to revolutionise access to world-class video footage of our changing planet - and was previously a board member of the Rocky Mountain Institute.
