Roy Alame is a private wealth advisor and financial literacy educator who makes his home in the Raleigh area of North Carolina. Roy is known for his exacting approach to developing wealth management and retirement planning strategies. Currently, he serves as the President and Executive Private Wealth Advisor for Gate Key Capital in Raleigh. When he

is not serving clients, he can be found sharing his insights with the next generations of financial professionals at the Triangle Finance Academy.

Education

Alame began his educational journey in 2001. In 2003, he participated in a Diversity Studies program at the University of California at Berkeley; Roy was one of only a small group nationwide to participate in the innovative program. After completing his program at Berkeley, Mr. Alame was accepted to Northern Illinois University, where he completed a Bachelor of Science degree in financial services and economics in 2007.

In 2014, Roy returned to the educational arena when he was accepted into the Masters of Business Administration (MBA) program at Western Governors University in Salt Lake City, Utah. He earned his MBA in 2016. Mr. Alame is currently completing coursework for another advanced degree, this time a Masters of Accounting program at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.

Well-educated and experienced in all aspects of the financial services industry, Roy Alame believes that one’s education is never complete. In addition to the Masters coursework he is completing at UNC, Roy has also received several professional certifications, including:

· Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Series 7 General Securities Representative

· FINRA Series 66 Uniformed Combined State Law

· Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor (CPFA)

· Personal Investment Advisor

Roy continues to seek additional professional certifications; as a passionate believer in education, he knows that new opportunities are unlocked by gaining knowledge.

Professional Development

Alame has been in the financial field for more than two decades. His first role was at a finance firm in the Chicago metro area, where he served as a portfolio manager and financial planner. His primary area of expertise was in managing the portfolios of over 200 high net-worth individuals. By applying his skill, he was able to achieve significant annual growth among the portfolios he managed.

Roy’s next experience in the financial field came in 2009, when he was selected to be a national accounts manager for a capital investments firm in Provo, Utah. Here, he applied his skill as an analyst to identify emerging investment opportunities for healthcare vendors and medical facilities across the United States.

Today, Mr. Alame applies the same skills he has honed over his two decades in the industry as President and Wealth Advisor for Gate Key Capital. His experience allows him to be an integral part of the Gate Key team, and he assists with venture funding initiatives, new business incubation, and managing corporate retirement and benefits plans. Roy is adept at networking, creating pathways between corporations and banking interests. By facilitating these connections, he is able to provide his clients with best-in-class service.

A Commitment to Educating Young People

As a prominent member of the financial services industry, Roy Alame has collected many skills and experiences over the past two decades. He knows how important financial literacy is and has created a specialized educational program to teach young people essential financial skills. As the director of the Triangle Finance Academy in Raleigh, Roy is able to share his knowledge and insights with young people, including future financial professionals. Roy is passionate about sharing educational opportunities with others and continues to provide outstanding financial literacy workshops throughout the calendar year.
