Previously, Ross served on the National Board American Lung Association from 2006-08 and on the Nationwide Assembly from 2008 to 2011, serving as Speaker in 2010-2011 and National Board Chair from 2012-2014. Ross' areas of expertise and skills are in health care law, non-profit governance and non-profit corporation law, Medicare/Medicaid,
corporate compliance and health facility operation and management. Ross joined the volunteer ranks of the American Lung Association 20 years ago with the local affiliate in Rochester, New York. Locally he has served as board president of the American Lung Association – Finger Lakes Region. Ross also served on the Development, By-Laws, Executive, Asthma Walk Steering, Special Events Committees, and the Merger Steering Committee. Ross served as Chair of the Board of the American Lung Association of New York State, from 2006-2008 and Chair of the Board of the American Lung Association of New York, from 2008-2010.
In addition to his service to the American Lung Association, Ross is active in his profession, being a member of the American Bar Association and the National Association of Chiropractic Attorneys (Treasurer). Ross is a member of the New York State Bar Association, having served as Chair of the Health Law Section. Ross is active within his community, having served as Chair of the Rochester Friendly Home, Inc., Chair of the Community Place of Greater Rochester, Inc., Vice President of the Cornell Alumni Association, Inc., and as a Member of the Board of Directors for the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra and for Western NY Wellness, Inc. Ross is currently recognized by both Best Lawyers in American and Super Lawyers of New York State for his professional skill.
Ross earned his J.D. degree from SUNY Buffalo Law School in 1988, his B.S. degree from Cornell University in 1977 and his Master's degree in Professional Studies, Hospital and Health Services Administration also from Cornell University in 1979.
