Mr. Elgart has experience as both an attorney and a business owner. His accomplishments range from building startup companies from the ground up to developing complex legal structures for unique financial transactions. Prior to founding Banyan Finance, Mr. Elgart was the founder and president of StoreLaw, Inc., a company that invented,
manufactured, and sold software and study aids to the law student marketplace. Prior to founding StoreLaw, Ross held positions with the law firms Morrison & Foerster in Irvine, California and Cadwalader, Wickersham, & Taft in Manhattan, New York. As a practicing attorney, Ross’s main focus was in the areas of mortgage/asset backed securitization, structured finance, off balance sheet lending, and specialized financing transactions. Typical transactions handled in these positions generally ranged from $100 million to $1 billion plus. Mr. Elgart is a 1998 graduate, magna cum laude from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. He was a published member of the Cardozo Law Review (19 Cardozo L. Rev. 2311), and a member of the Order of the Coif. Mr. Elgart is a member of the New York Bar and California Bar. Ross received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree with a focus in accounting in from The American University in Washington, D.C.
