Experienced scientist with excellent personal and organisational skills. I want to use my skills and experience to support science and technology in making an impact on society, through education, dissemination of research results and funding support.
I have a background in Materials Science, with a PhD from Cambridge University and research
experience in the USA, France and The Netherlands. In addition to Materials Science, I have a good grounding in biochemistry, environmental technologies, physics and engineering.
After finishing my PhD, I have supported companies and academics in commercialisation of technologies, helping them to find funds for development and partners to help bring products to market. This has included writing applications for UK and EU innovation funding on behalf of clients.
I am currently leveraging my technical and innovation experience in a start-up setting, having recently joined the founding team of Orphidia Ltd. We intend to deliver the world's first fully quantitative point-of-care device for lab-accuracy protein biomarker measurement.
