Dr. Roger R. Schell, Co-Founder and President of Aesec Corporation. Roger led the development of GEMSOS at Gemini, where he built a team from scratch to 50 engineers during Gemini’s successful startup phase. They earned the formal evaluation by NSA that the GEMSOS commercial product achieved the highest defined (Class A1) security level. Roger

was more recently at Novell for five years where he was Corporate Security Architect and built a team of 30 engineers. Prior to all that, he was the founding Deputy Director of the NSA’s Department of Defense (now National) Computer Security Center, where he built an internationally respected team of 150 professionals. At NCSC, Roger was one of the architects of the TCSEC, or Orange Book, the most mature and widely used computer security evaluation criteria in the world. He has spent 5 years as a university cyber security engineering faculty member, including most recently at the University of Southern California. Roger is the inventor for several security patents, and is a frequent author and lecturer in cyber security. The NSA and National Institute of Standards and Technology have recognized Roger with the National Computer System Security Award, the highest honor in the information security field. In 2012 he was inducted into the inaugural class of the National Cyber Security Hall of Fame. Ph.D. Computer Science, MIT; M.S. Electrical Engineering, Washington State; B.S. Montana State.
