As CTO and a co-founder, Roee Vulkan has 20 years of industry experience developing and mastering innovative technology, and is responsible for spearheading new Boxee features and products. Today, he is the driving force behind Boxee’s Cloud-DVR, developing it from proof-of-concept to full blown product. Vulkan’s hand-on approach helps inspire his
team and push them to excellence.
Prior to co-founding Boxee, Vulkan was CTO of the Instant Communication Division at Comverse, Inc., leading innovative projects in the instant and video communication domains. Vulkan joined Comverse in 2002 through their acquisition of Odigo, a cross-platform instant messaging service. At Odigo, Vulkan performed multiple roles, including managing development of components on both the client and server sides.
Vulkan first began his engineering career in the Israeli Defense Force’s special computer unit, MAMRAM, where he served for 6 years developing various systems which he might be able to talk about 30 years from now when they’re de-classified.
