Robert Zerbst formerly served as president, chief executive officer, and chairman of CBRE Global Investors, where he oversaw investment policy and directed strategy. Prior to joining the CBRE team, he founded Piedmont Realty Advisors and served as its chief executive officer. Piedmont, a real estate investment manager, later merged with RREEF
Funds. Robert Zerbst became a partner with RREEF and managed its investments in the western United States while identifying potential new investments across the nation.
Today, Bob Zerbst sits on the Board of Directors of Digital Realty Trust. In addition, he serves as an independent director of HF2 Financial Management. Complementing his executive roles, he has been heavily involved with real estate investment education over the course of his career. He taught at the University of British Columbia as a faculty member and at Southern Methodist University as an associate professor of finance and real estate.
A graduate of the Ohio State University, Robert Zerbst holds a PhD in finance and real estate economics, as well as an MBA and an MA in economics.
