I help organizations accelerate ideas from the "hunch" stage into proof-of-concept through rapid-cycle prototyping.

In a previous life, I used advanced math tools with a team of rocket scientists from MIT, NASA JPL and Max Planck. We had unlimited budgets and access to all the cool toys - parallel computing, optimization and data

mining algorithms - but found clients unable to implement the insights they paid millions for.

I prefer customer collaboration and rapid-cycle prototyping. Why?

1) It costs a lot less and works a lot more. Customers know what they want (usually) and know your competitors at least as well as you do. They have an ability to distill terabytes of data and sort through 50 unknown variables faster than the smartest rocket scientist.

2) Customers tell you quickly what your idea is worth to them. Remember, the goal is "cash" -- not being the smartest MBA in the room.

3) Customers can tell you why your idea WON'T WORK. This saves money and, possibly, your career from a terminal mistake.

Most organizations I work with find rapid-cycle prototyping UNCOMFORTABLE because they've been taught to solve problems like an engineer.

I'm here to tell you that it's better to be fast and close than let perfection become your goal... and your enemy.
