Robert Trebor is a singer songwriter based out of Central California. In his teens he performed on local television stations as a featured musician and artist. This included performances of his original material, composed for a popular television variety show.
His music and performance caught the attention of the stations's general manager
and led to Robert writing music for a a series of commercials for a CBS affiliate. Robert was commissioned to write the music , sing and perform in the commercial.
The music was always in his blood and it has never left.
His latest project and incarnation as a performing artist, "The Robert Trebor Band," has been the featured act at countless venues up and down the State of California.
Some of Robert's most recent accomplishments include opening for the classic rock band, "Foghat,†at the Thunder in the Park event in July of 2008. Later that summer he was picked up by world famous guitarist and producer Stevie Salas. Salas is rated as one of the top 50 guitarist of all time. Stevie Salas has worked with rock legends Mick Jagger, Rod Stewart, Sammy Haggar and Justin Timberlake to name a few. He was also the musical director for American Idol winners Chris Daughtry, Jordan Sparks,.David Cook.
Now that Robert was working with the legendary Stevie Salas it was a natural order that Trebor's writing, recording and performing talents would open a lot of doors. Soon, Trebor was to meet music greats like Matt Sorum of Velvet Revolver, Ron Blair of Tom Petty and the Heart Breakers. Robert and Ron Blair are currently co-writing together for various projects. Ron plays keyboards on one of the cuts ‘Welcome Back Old Lover’.
Trebor’s CD features many accomplished musicians like Bernard Fowler background singer for the Rolling Stones, thought of by many in the industry as the most sought after premiere background vocalist in the world. Also featured as a Bassist is Jara (Slapbak) Harris currently with the American Idol house band and formerly with Jordan Sparks, Cameo, and many more recording artists to his credit. On percussion Bucket Baker formerly with Macy Gray, Kenny Loggins, Boz Skaggs. Of course Stevie Salas does some unbelievable guitar work on the CD as well.
This combination of great musicians and great songwriting produces a sound that is Funky and Rocky at the same time. Two of the cuts ‘Welcome Back old Lover†and ‘Wildhearts’ have won first in their genre on ‘Ourstage’ -- an internet based song writing competition where contestants and judges from all over the world vote online for their favorite song . These two songs also have qualified to be entered into the John Lennon Songwriting Contest.
Robert Trebor’s unique sound and strong vocals, appeals to a wide variety of age groups and all types of music lovers. You can actually pick out some of his influences in his songs as you take a musical journey at home or in your car. This CD is one of a kind and never before has this combination of famous artists got together to record this special music.
