Robert Strauss, J.D. is a finance, insurance and technology entrepreneur and inventor. He is the innovator of a number of life insurance products and strategies, including the currently popular premium financing program SFI. Strauss is the inventor of Lifester.com, a project-based decision-making platform that offers free life insurance
recommendations that consumers can share for feedback before they buy. He currently serves as Founder and CEO.
In addition, Strauss invented the patent-pending premium financing program known as SFI. SFI is the first leveraged policy design to accomplish short-term loan payoffs using reasonable assumptions, without resorting to large policy withdrawals or external funds. Strauss remains Founder and CEO of the Disciplined Advisor Network, Inc., the insurance consulting firm that licenses and supports SFI to independent life insurance producers.
Strauss is an honors graduate of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and received his Juris Doctor degree at the Boston University School of Law. Before transitioning into insurance, Mr. Strauss interned for the Honorable Jacob D. Fuchsberg, Associate Justice of the New York State Court of Appeals, and practiced employment and executive benefit law in New York City at the national law firm Epstein Becker & Green, PC. Strauss chaired the Young Lawyers Division of the Probate and Trust Law Committee of the American Bar Association and was the founding Editor in Chief of the American Bar Association’s Trust & Estates Law Report.
Strauss is the author of several advanced planning concepts including the award winning Family Discount Life program (Trusts & Estates Magazine 1998 EPIC Award) and the patent-pending Self-Financed Insurance (SFI) programs: Financed SFI, Private SFI and Asset Based SFI. Strauss has spoken at a number of prominent industry events.
