Robert Goetschkes, an esteemed education professional, brings 25 years of hands-on experience in classroom management and instruction. Born and raised in Mahopac, a suburban community of New York City, Goetschkes drew inspiration from his father, a firefighter and plumber. His father's courage motivated him to join the Coast Guard during the first Gulf War, fueling his desire to become a hero.
Completing his secondary education at Mahopac High School in New York City in 1984, Goetschkes pursued his academic interests at SUNY Oneonta. He delved into history and economics and even explored the art of foil fencing there, ultimately graduating in 1988. He furthered his educational journey by earning a Master of Arts in Elementary Education and a Field Endorsement in Secondary Social Sciences.
Goetschkes' determination and resourcefulness were evident throughout his education and career. Working three part-time jobs year-round and taking personal financial responsibility for his college degree exemplified his can-do attitude, which persisted throughout his 11-year service in the U.S. Coast Guard. His exceptional dedication made him enter the prestigious Alpha Sigma Lambda Honors Fraternity in 2002.
Following college, Goetschkes embarked on an educational and humanitarian expedition by joining the U.S. Peace Corps. For two and a half years, he resided in Tonga, engaging in community-based service that allowed him to establish connections, foster relationships, and positively impact the global community.
During this period, Goetschkes had the opportunity to explore various countries, including India, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji. These experiences broadened his perspective, providing him with a global mindset that greatly influenced his teaching approach throughout his 25-year career, molding the minds of countless students.
