Bob Rubin served as the 70th United States Secretary of the Treasury.
Mr. Rubin began his career in finance at Goldman Sachs in 1966, culminating in his appointment as Co-Chairman in 1990.
He left Goldman Sachs in 1993 to serve in the Clinton administration as Assistant to the President for Economic Policy, and as the first director of the
National Economic Council. In 1995 Mr. Rubin was appointed Secretary of the Treasury, and is credited as one of the main architects of the economic growth and prosperity that the U.S. experienced in the late 1990s. Following his tenure at Treasury, Mr. Rubin joined the Citigroup board of directors and served as a senior counselor there until 2009. He also served as co-chair of the Council on Foreign Relations for a decade, until 2007, and is currently co-chairman emeritus.
In 2006 Mr. Rubin helped co-found The Hamilton Project, a think tank focused on inclusive growth policies designed to benefit more Americans.
Mr. Rubin currently serves as a senior counselor to Centerview Partners, bringing his background in finance, economics, and public policy to work advising clients across the firm’s activities.
