Robert Coop went to the University of Tennessee where he obtained a doctorate in Computer Engineering, with a focus in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. During graduate school he worked with the Oak Ridge National Laboratory on several projects ranging from C++ optimization to brain tumor growth modeling and prediction. He’s worked at
State Farm Mutual Insurance Companies, where he worked on predictive modeling and helped form the data science team.
Currently, Robert is working in the Big Data & Analytics group at Stanley Black & Decker, where he is working with the industrial manufacturing business units in order to optimize operations by predicting machine failure and optimizing scheduling.
