Robert Astell has been a member of Astell Lachance Du Sablon De Sua since its founding in 2005. Mr. Astell is a graduate of the Faculty of Political Science and Law at the Université du Québec à Montréal. His main areas of practice are civil and commercial litigation, business law, bankruptcy, insolvency and restructuring. Through his years of
experience as a lawyer, Mr. Astell has represented many clients in the courts of first instance, the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court. His taste and talent for litigation and dispute resolution has given him considerable expertise in this area. In particular, he has developed a thorough knowledge of commercial law, particularly in the agricultural field. He represents clients in corporate, litigation, commercial and insurance matters. In addition, he advises many companies on everything related to their legal affairs, and has led several major commercial transactions. Mr. Astell also represents clients with respect to the penal provisions for the regulation of securities as well as for tax litigation. He is also involved as President of the Old Montreal Business Development Corporation and Vice-President of Saint-Jacques, an organization that helps homeless people.
