Rob is Director of Capital Projects with accountability for managing all aspects of the delivery of AWE’s Major Infrastructure Developments. Included in Rob’s accountability is the leadership of AWE’s “Thin Client” Organisation, responsible for providing the single point of an accountable, intelligent customer.
Prior to joining AWE Rob was
Construction Planning Director with EDF Energy’s new Nuclear Build Programme, accountable for the preconstruction project and programme management of the Company’s planned nuclear power plants at Hinkley Point and Sizewell in the UK.
At Transport for London Rob was London Underground’s Programme Director responsible for leading the £4bn Programme to upgrade the oldest sections of London’s tube system, the sub-surface lines. The Programme included successfully upgrading infrastructure up to 150 years old and rolling out a fleet of 190 new trains, the first on the network to be air conditioned!
The first 20 years of Rob’s career was spent with Airport Operator and Developer B.A.A. fulfilling a wide range of roles delivering the Company’s extensive Capital Development Programme. Rob gained critical major project experience leading the construction start-up of Heathrow’s £4.5bn Terminal 5 Project, going on to be the Projects Commercial Director. On leaving the Project, as Group Construction Director, Rob had delivery accountability for BAA’s UK-wide, £10bn Capital Programme covering all seven UK Airports.
