From 1982 to 1991, he served as Executive Officer at Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP). He served as an Executive at Launch Media, Inc. He was the Founder of Discera, Inc. He served as the President of AvTech Ventures. He served as the Chairman of Management Board at Michigan Economic Development Corporation. He began his career in the tax department and served as its Partner since 1988 and Partner in charge of the mergers and acquisitions practice since 1989. From 1982 to 1984, he served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Accounting at the University of Michigan. He serves as the Chairman of HandyLab, Inc. He served as the Chairman of Gateway Inc. since May 2005 and served as its Director since 1991.
Mr. Snyder served the Chairman of Discera, Inc. and Translume, Inc. He served as the Chairman of Ann Arbor SPARK until May 2009. He serves as a Director of Great Lakes-St. Lawrence River Basin Water Resources Council and Avalon Technology, LLC. Mr. Snyder is also a Member of the Michigan Bar Association. He is the Governor of Michigan. He serves as a Director of Council of Great Lakes Governors, Inc. He serves as Independent Director of HealthMedia, Inc.
He is active on the Boards or Advisory Boards of several privately held companies and community and educational organizations, including The University of Michigan’s Tech Transfer Advisory Board, The College of Literature, Science, and the Arts Advisory Board, Samuel Zell & Robert H. Lurie Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies, Comprehensive Cancer Center, The Nature Conservancy (Michigan Chapter), The Henry Ford, The Sphinx Organization, and The NanoBusiness Alliance. He served as a Member of Advisory Board of Inverness Graham Investments. He served as a Director of Crown Pacific Partners LP and Bank of Ann Arbor, Inc.Besides his business responsibilities, he has been active in community affairs and has held leadership positions in a variety of charitable and economic development organizations.
Mr. Snyder studied at the University of Michigan, where he earned a J.D. in 1982; M.B.A. with distinction in 1979 and Bachelor of General Studies degree with high distinction in 1977.
