Richard Foos was the Founder of legendary music label Rhino Records and is currently CEO of Shout Factory. Now in its 12th year, Shout! is one of the leading independent video and music companies in Entertainment.
In 1973 Richard co-founded Rhino Records in a Westwood storefront together with Howard Bronson. The store grew in credibility and
popularity over the years and began issuing novelty recordings from Wild Man Fischer and others. Their compilations became so popular that the company entered into a six year distribution deal with Capitol Records in 1985.
Under Richard's leadership Rhino grew significantly until Time Warner bought the company in the late 1990's. During Richard's tenure, Rhino released many stunning compilations from world-famous artists such as The Monkees, Eric Burdon, The Ramones, The Grateful Dead, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, The Beach Boys, Yes, The Doobie Brothers, The Cars, Chicago, Tom Paxton, Third Eye Blind, The Doors, and War.
Richard is a major philanthopist and strongly believes in merging ones social values with business and has installed a strong sense of purpose and giving back in all his business concerns.
To this end he serves as Chairman Emeritus for Little Kids Rock and on the boards of The Nation Institute, Government Accountability Project, Chrysalis and other such non-profits that make a strong commitment to social progress. Foos is a 1967 graduate of Beverly Hills High School and a 1971 graduate of Whittier College.
