Richard Berti is a retired accountant. After earning his accounting degree from Woodbury College in 1963, he became a certified public accountant and founded his own firm, Richard A. Berti, CPA’s. For more than 25 years, he advised individuals and businesses on financial reporting, tax planning, auditing, budgeting, and long-term financial
strategy. His years of service ensured commercial clients stayed compliant with financial reporting guidelines and tax regulations.
During his professional years, Richard Berti was also committed to advancing education and supporting his community. He taught accounting at Santa Barbara City College, Westmont College, and El Puente School, helping students build practical accounting skills. He also engaged in philanthropy. He created the Maribel Franco Memorial College Scholarship as well as the Richard and Marguerite Berti sponsorship of the Gateway Project at La Cumbre Jr. High School. He has received numerous awards for supporting youth, education, and social services in Santa Barbara County.
Since retiring, Mr. Berti has embraced photography, including graduating from the Brooks Institute of Photography. He continues to pursue his creative interests and previously taught photography at the Westside Boys and Girls Club.
