Ric Wilson is the Vice President of Flight Operations and Envoy at American Airlines. Captain Ric Wilson was named Vice President of Flight Operations for Envoy Air Airlines in March 2015. Ric has more than 30 years of aviation experience, including 25 years at Envoy Air (formerly American Eagle). Over the years, Ric has served in many roles:
Pilot, Instructor/Check Airman, Flight Training Manager, Fleet Technical Manager and Director of Flight Operations Technical.
In October 2010, Ric was appointed Vice President System Operations Control (SOC), overseeing a wide range of planning and logistical support functions that drive the airline. Prior to SOC, Ric served as Vice President of Safety & Compliance, responsible for all aspects of Corporate Safety Programs for 14,000 employees and all aspects of FAA Flight Safety Programs for the carrier’s domestic and international operations.
Ric holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Aviation Technology with an emphasis on engineering and mechanics, has completed an Advanced Executive Program at Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University and an Aviation Safety and Security Program at George Washington University. In addition to being an FAA-licensed Air Transport Pilot, Ric is also an FAA-licensed Aircraft Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic.
