Riaz Rizvi has over 20 years’ experience in mining, commodity trading and principal investments. Riaz is a founding partner of Rice Capital Partners, a privately-owned principal investments business headquartered in London and focused on industrial minerals and metals, clean energy and energy storage.
Prior to RCP, Riaz was CEO of NuCap, where he
built a global coal, freight, iron ore and petroleum trading and investment business. Riaz co-founded Constellation Energy Commodities Group, later sold to Goldman Sachs. Whilst at Constellation, he oversaw its entry into the coal, power, gas and emissions markets and led the acquisition of the uranium trading company Nuclear Fuels Corporation International.
Riaz headed up structured products and cross-commodities at American Electric Power and before that, the international coal origination desk at Enron, a business he helped sell to AEP. He started his career as country manager for a multi-family office in the Republic of Georgia and later Uzbekistan.
Riaz is an active mentor of, and early investor in, young founder entrepreneurs through his vehicle Incubeight. He holds a BSc from King’s College London and an MBA and Doctorandus from Nyenrode, Netherlands business school.
