Ray is the retired Chief Legal Officer of MedAssurant, Inc., a leading healthcare technology company that combines advanced data analytics with highly targeted interventions to achieve meaningful impact in clinical outcomes and financial performance across the healthcare landscape. Having co-founded MedAssurant, he also served as Chief Privacy
Officer, Chief Compliance Officer, Corporate Secretary and member of the Board of Directors, and an interim Chief Financial Officer. Prior to MedAssurant, he was General Counsel for a boutique management consulting firm working with early-stage, high-growth companies.
Before entering the corporate world, Ray was a corporate/securities lawyer with Ballard Spahr in Philadelphia, concentrating his practice in venture capital and emerging growth representations. He has also served in leadership positions with a number of professional associations and is an active member of the American Bar Association and the American Health Lawyers Association, in which he has served on numerous committees and initiatives, including committees on Venture Capital and Private Equity, Business Law, Ehealth, Privacy & Security, Information Security, Privacy and Data Security. Throughout his career, Ray has written and spoken on a variety of legal and business topics, including securities, venture capital, finance and emerging company issues.
Ray holds a degree in accounting from Villanova University and received his law degree from Villanova University School of Law. He lives in Chester County with his wife and six children. He is a member of Chester Valley Golf Club and serves on the Executive Committee of the Malvern Retreat House, as its past Chairman.
