Rana joined Elevar in 2015 as VP Finance with the belief that efficiency and scale of market-based approaches can and should be used to solve certain social problems.
Rana came to Elevar with 14 years of work experience focused on financial and strategic planning, operations and investment analysis. She started her career at KPMG leading Audit
and Risk Advisory projects for retail and banking clients. Post MBA, she spent few years pricing wastewater treatment deals for the Linde Group, an international industrial gas and engineering company. Before joining Elevar, Rana spent seven years at Amazon.com as a finance lead supporting various early stage technology businesses – such as Online Advertising and Web Services – to scale them globally and in a financially sound way.
Rana earned her undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Bosphorus University in Istanbul, Turkey and received her MBA with a focus on Finance and Corporate Strategy from University of Michigan Ross School of Business. She completed the Executive Education program on Social Impact Strategy at University of Pennsylvania. Rana has served on the boards of several non-profit organizations in Seattle and has provided pro-bono consulting to social entrepreneurs on business strategy. She also helped Potential Energy, a California based non-profit, by initiating their carbon certification program.
While she is not in Elevar’s offices or traveling, you can find her on sailboats, running trails or on tennis courts around Seattle.
