As COO & Chief Scientific Officer of Clear Labs, Ramin Khaksar leads the vision and strategy for talented teams of dedicated scientists who make life healthier through the application of genomics and intelligent analytics.
Ramin currently manages teams across five different divisions
at Clear Labs: Assay Development, Bioinformatics & Data Science, Microbiology & Regulatory Affairs, Automation & Robotics, and Reagents & Consumables. One of his most notable accomplishments was leading the team that launched the fully automated pathogen detection platform using next generation sequencing. A strong believer in the power of positive team culture, he empowers his team members to maximize their talents and push the bounds of what’s possible.
As a scientist and researcher, Ramin has deep insights into the world of health, biotechnology, and next generation sequencing, and continues to contribute to the world of academia as an adjunct faculty member at Rutgers University. He regularly presents research findings and advocates for Clear Labs’ technological strengths through publications and conferences. He currently leads Clear Labs’ IP portfolio, which comprises a dozen issued and filed patents.
While teaching at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, Ramin was honored to receive the Best Teacher Award, after working hard to connect with, inspire, and empower students.
Ramin wants to leave a legacy by raising the quality of life and health of the world’s population. He has already made a huge impact on food safety through his work at Clear Labs, and he aims to expand that impact by using his skills to improve clinical and pharmaceutical genomics and their effectiveness in public health.
Outside of work, Ramin is a joduka (third black belt in judo) and a USA National Referee for the International Judo Federation.
