Rajwinder is a PhD with 13+ years of experience in cancer research. He graduated from University of Toronto with a M.Sc degree and investigated signaling cascades implicated in human cancers and cancer stem cells. He has obtained his PhD degree from Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne (EPFL). Since 2007, he has been working at Swiss
Institute for Experimental Cancer Research-EPFL, where he established a drug discovery platform to discover and develop novel anti- cancer therapeutics. He is the recipient of several academic awards. During his undergraduate studies he was awarded Canadian Genetic Disease Network scholarship. He is a winner of American Association for Cancer Research-Scholar in Training award, University of Toronto fellowship, Frank Fletcher Memorial scholarship for cancer research and Al and Hannah Peryl Graduate student scholarship. Based on his drug discovery research, he was awarded INNOGRANT and ENABLE grant by Vice Presidency for Innovation and Technology Transfer at EPFL. Dr. Lehal was selected to Swiss National team of Venture Leaders (2013). In 2014, he co-founded Cellestia Biotech AG with the aim of developing innovative therapeutics for cancer treatment. At Cellestia Biotech AG, he serves as Chief Scientific Officer and serves on the Board of Directors.
