Dr. David Daniel Ebert´s work focuses on the development and evaluation of digital health interventions for the prevention and treatment of common mental health disorders. He received his PhD with special honors (summa cum laude) in 2013 and was trained at the Philipp’s-University of Marburg, Germany, the Free University Amsterdam and Harvard
University Boston. He was formerly head of the division for Health Trainings Online (GET.ON) at the Leuphana University Lueneburg, leads now the E-Mental Health unit at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg. Together with his team he has developed over fifteen different digital interventions interventions for Depression, depression and comorbid chronic somatic conditions such as diabetes and chronic back pain, relapse prevention, panic disorder, work-related stress, insomnia, hazardous alcohol use, mental health in college-students, Anxiety disorders . The efficacy and cost-effectiveness of these interventions have been or are currently being evaluated in over 40randomized controlled trials. He is member of the boards of directors and president of the International Society for Research on Internet Interventions, co-founder and director of the European Society for Research on Internet-Interventions. R Beside his research he is very much interested in the implementation of eMental health interventions in routine mental health care. In order to facilitate this co-founded the GET.ON Institute (now rebranded: Hellobetter) for health trainings online, which aims to transfer evidence-based eMental Health Intervention in routine mental health care. He also consults of national and international companies, clinics and health insurance companies on the implementation of eMental Health on a regular basis. He has published over 200 peer reviewed articles [> 600 Impact Points], > 20 book chapters and received over 10 Million Euro direct third party funding, mostly for digital health projects.
