Dr. Pramod Koppol has been Alef’s Chief Technology Officer since January 2017. Dr. Koppol is an experienced technology leader with emphasis in the areas of networking and software systems. Over a period of 20 years, Dr. Koppol has been involved in research and development in a broad spectrum of topics including IP routing protocols,
algorithms/implementations of fault resilient routing, traffic engineering, virtualization of telco systems, enterprise security, and payment/charging systems. He has held senior leadership positions in technology and software development. Previously, he was the Chief Technology Officer of Payment Policy and Charging Business for Alcatel - Lucent / Nokia, and he was the Head of the Department of Computer Systems & Security Research at Bell Labs, Alcatel-Lucent. Before serving as research Department Head, Dr. Koppol was the head of software development for Nonstop Laptop Guardian at Alcatel – Lucent Ventures.
Dr. Koppol has authored over 20 patents and holds a PhD in Computer Science from North Carolina State University.
