Ping Wong is a serial entrepreneur and has more than 15 years’ experience in the information and communications technology industry, specialising in business development and marketing. She is now the CEO of EVENTION, which is a complete event solution to help event organizers breeze through every step of an event and elevate event organising
experience, as well as to create a premium experience for event participants.
Before EVENTION, she joined a tech startup, Simplus.IO, which target to develop a programming tools for building cross platform native mobile apps by writing HTML codes only. Within the 4 months with Simplus.IO, she successfully accelerate the company to global level. Simplus.IO was TechCrunch Disrupt, San Francisco 2015, Startup Battlefield - Alternate, i.e. the top 28 startups among thousand applications from around the world.
Before she started her startup journey, she, as Secretary-General of Internet Society Hong Kong, has focused on leading various entrepreneurship competitions and programs, working closely with local entrepreneurs and partners to enhance Hong Kong’s startup ecosystem.
She has attended a number of global Internet conferences such as ICANN, APNIC, APRICOT, Google I/O and Web Summit. She was the leader in charge of the first ever APRICOT-APAN and Internet Hall of Fame in Hong Kong. Her network of Internet experts from around the globe has given her insight into cutting-edge Internet trends and concepts.
She writes regular columns on ICT, the Internet and entrepreneurship for a number of media in the region, and had penned an article for international news network CNN and interviewed by Bloomberg TV. (Her personal blog: www.pingwong.hk)
