Philip Yim has over 25 years of experience in the communications industry and can account for circa 1 billion ports deployed. As an intrapreneur, his focus is leading global programs across R&D and strategic sales initiatives. His technology passion and focus is on deployment of secure application delivery across hybrid SDN/NFV networks
using both private and public cloud infrastructure for enterprise customers and communication service providers
Currently he is the VP of Dasan Zhone Solutions (DZS) Programs, where he is pioneering the work on a hybrid SDN/NFV Cloud Solution for FTTx in the Communication Service Provider (CSP) markets. Prior to DZS, he led Allied Telesis global SDN OpenFlow switching initiative and was the GM of the CSP business unit.
As an entrepreneur, Philip is the original founder Turin Networks as VP Marketing and Product Development. Philip orchestrated the industry first intelligent control plane based on GMPLS for Ethernet-IP transport networks. Prior to Turin Networks, he was Chief Evangelist for the unified fixed access xDSL-FTTx Broadband product line at Advanced Fiber Communications and held leadership positions at Siemens and GEC-Plessey in the areas of ATM/FR/ISDN and Class 5 voice switching.
