years began with jobs in commercial lending and corporate bond trading, which built his skills in alternative investments and special situations, and developed further at a New York hedge fund company.
Mesman has led Picton Mahoney Asset Management’s Fixed Income division since 2009. As lead Portfolio Manager, he directs a skilled team that handles various fixed-income funds, including core bonds, corporate credit, and special situation strategies. With Phil’s leadership, the team has applied alternative thinking to bond investments and created a solid platform that focuses on innovation and teamwork.
Before landing his current role, Mesman worked for Harris Investments, Greywolf Capital Management, Merrill Lynch, and Scotiabank. He comes from a family of credit specialists.
