Phil brings a wealth of diverse medical device experience to Asante and currently serves as special advisor and board member. He served as Asante’s president and chief executive officer between March 2007 and April 2012. Previously, he served as President and CEO of LuMend, a vascular catheter company acquired by Cordis Endovascular.
Prior to
that, he was Vice President of Marketing and Sales for Radiant Medical, a start-up focused on endovascular hypothermia technology. Phil has held senior executive level positions at Origin Medsystems (acquired by Eli Lilly), Guidant (spun out of Lilly MDD), Ioptex (acquired by Smith & Nephew) and Lukens Medical (went public and eventually acquired by Medisys).
He began his career in various marketing and sales positions with Iolab ophthalmic surgical products and Ethicon wound closure products, both Johnson & Johnson Companies. He is co-inventor on eighteen medical device patents. Phil currently serves as a Board Member of Enlighten, a medical device company developing an innovative tissue removal platform.
