VP, Strategic Alliances & Platform Peter's role is to identify and develop relationships with key partners in the cloud software and hardware infrastructure ecosystem. The relationships support Joyent's sales of SmartDataCenter cloud enabling software to telco's and service providers globally. Focus of effort is in two main areas: 1) Relationships with hardware vendors in the compute, networking, and storage areas upon which the Joyent software runs; And 2) ISV's that enable richer support for the Joyent software as the premier platform for providers to profitably sell IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS products.
Prior to taking on his current role Peter served as CFO during Joyent's formative early stage start-up growth years. In his role as CFO, Peter help grow Joyent from a revenue funded company with an annualized revenue run rate in the hundreds of thousands per year to a venture backed company with a run rate in the tens of millions of dollars per year. Managed company growth from 14 employees to over 90 employees. Developed financial model that enabled Joyent to raise a round of funding led by Intel Capital. Continued to run Operations, Support, HR, IT and back office support teams until Joyent hired up. Expanded operations into Europe and Asia-Pacific regions.
