Peter Verheesen has been Scientific Founder of AgroSavfe NV since 2013.Verheesen has over 12 years of experience in working with antibodies, for different applications. He started his career as Biochemist with Unilever Research, Vlaardingen, where he was involved in the development of the first affinity matrices using single domain antibodies for
affinity purifications, which formed the basis of the Unilever spin-off company BAC BV.
He joined Ablynx as Lead Scientist in Technology Development and for various Discovery projects. Since 2009, he worked for VIB in the VUB laboratory of Prof. Jan Steyaert and focuses on applications of single domain antibodies in agriculture. He has PhD on the use of camelid single domain antibodies to prevent protein aggregation in disease with Prof. Theo Verrips at Utrecht University.
